Day Thirteen: 40-Day Journey of Gratitude
Today I am thankful my Mom, teaching me a lesson on yesterday. I stopped and picked up her favorite Sunday lunch, from Checker, she like the burgers, but what she really wants, is the fries. So, when I got home, I took her, her food and gave it no other thought. Ten minutes later, she called me and said, I forgot to tell you thanks, thank you. You see, I did not even notice, but she did, and she took a few minutes to say, thank you. It reminded me of the passage of scripture in the bible when ten lepers were healed, and only one came back to say thank you. I know that this was a small thing, but to me it was huge. It is one of those lessons that I hope to keep with me for the rest of my life.
Uncle Paul's Thought: I learned several lessons from this small act of kindness. First, it's never too late to say thank you. Second, sometimes we take the small things for granted. Third, we never know how a thank you, can impact someone's life. Do me a favor, send three people a note and just tell them, thank you. So, to my best friend, thank you for your ear. To the love of my life, thank you for your heart and to my church family, thank you for always loving me.
