Day Forty: 40-Day Journey of Gratitude (The End-Thanks for Joining the Journey)

Day Forty: 40-Day Journey of Gratitude (The End-Thanks for Joining the Journey)

Today I am thankful for the gift of life. As many of you may or may not know, in October, of last year, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. At the end of November, I had a two and half hour surgery; after surgery, my doctor said that cancer had spread, outside the walls of my prostate and he thought he had removed it all. Throughout this ordeal, I had a peace, which surpassed all understanding. To be honest, it was a little scary, and I even asked other not to pray for me, but to pray for others that had cancer. Why? Because I knew I was going to be alright, I knew that this sickness would not be unto death.

A few weeks ago, I took my first PSA test since the surgery, and God has not failed me yet. I am now 100% cancer free. I will have to continue to be tested, every three months, but I am expecting the same results. For this reason, I am thankful for the gift of life, my doctors, nurses, church family, friends, and family. But a special thank you goes out to my little sister Lora, who stood with me through it all, the doctor appointments, test and hours of sitting in the recovery room. I did not think she could handle all of this, but she did, and for that I am grateful.

Uncle Paul's Thought: Life is never about the challenges, but it is all about the process that we go through, to overcome life challenges.

It's Just A Thought
