Let Go of the Past so that you can Move Forward….

Let Go of the Past so that you can Move Forward….

Life is not about what happens to us, but it is more about, how we react to those situations that matter. There's much in life we can't control. We certainly can't control our past. We all wish we had one of those, magic erasers that would wipe clean our past, but we don’t. We must get to a place where we can let go of the past.

You see, we all have baggage that we carry from our past, and this baggage gets heavier and heavier, the longer we hold onto it. We all have a hard time letting go of the past. We often find ourselves carry a mental reminder of our past mistakes and losses with us, as we travel on this journey of life. We even have a hard time realizing how our past is robbing us of today's, joy, love, and happiness.

We can’t change the past. What happened in your past happened, and there is nothing we can do about it. I know this may sound cold, but it is what it is, and we must let it go. So, don’t get worked up over things that you cannot change. We must accept the fact that we are broken, that we have endured hardship, that somewhere in the middle of it all, we have lost ourselves. But all so, accept the fact that in spite of it all, we are still standing. We are still growing stronger. We are still moving forward.

So, even though your journey has been hard, those lessons and struggles help shape you into the person that you are today. Look, what happened in our past happened, so our only hope is to learn how to accept our past and to begin to move forward. – It’s Just A Thought – Paul Steven Smith (Uncle Paul)
