Fear Not: Don’t Miss Your Blessing Because of Fear (Part 1)

Fear Not: Don’t Miss Your Blessing Because of Fear (Part 1)

By Uncle Paul

Let me tell y’all something about fear.

That fear is like an annoying cousin at a family reunion—always in your business, always holding you back, and always whispering nonsense in your ear. It’s got you thinking you can’t dance, even though you know you’ve been practicing that two-step for weeks. Fear has you frozen like your Wi-Fi just cut off during your favorite show. And before you know it, BAM! You’ve let yet another blessing slip right through your hands.

Now, if I sound a little fired up, it’s because I’ve been there, honey. I’ve been so scared of failing that I almost didn’t even try. Let me give it to you straight—fear is a liar, a thief, and a hater all rolled into one. And if you let it, fear will have you stuck, watching other folks live your dreams while you sit on the sidelines saying, “Could’ve been me.” Oh no, boo! Not today, not on my watch.

The Reality of Fear

First off, fear is natural. We all feel it. It’s like breathing—ain’t nobody out here immune. Fear is that little voice saying, “What if it doesn’t work out?” But guess what? That same voice ain’t paying your bills, so why are you listening to it? Fear thrives on “what ifs” and “maybes,” but you know what? God operates in “I AM” and “YES, YOU CAN.”

Let me tell you about the time I almost missed my blessing because of fear. I sat on a book idea for YEARS. I mean, I had notebooks filled with thoughts, outlines, and even a catchy title, but every time I picked up my pen, fear started running its mouth: “Who’s going to read this? What if people laugh at you? What if it’s a flop?”

Sound familiar? Yeah, I see some of y’all nodding. Fear doesn’t discriminate—it comes for everyone. But here’s the kicker: that fear isn’t real. It’s just smoke and mirrors trying to keep you from walking into your greatness.

The Blessing Is Bigger Than the Fear

Now, let’s get real. Fear is sneaky. It’ll show up disguised as “caution” or “responsibility,” but don’t fall for it! The truth is, fear isn’t there to protect you; it’s there to paralyze you. The enemy knows that if you step into your blessing, you’ll be unstoppable. So, he throws fear in your path, hoping you’ll trip over it. But baby, we don’t trip—we leap.

Let me drop some scripture on you, just in case fear is trying to act brand new. Isaiah 41:10 says:

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." (KJV)

Did you catch that? God is saying, “I got you! Why are you tripping? Stop worrying about what might go wrong, and trust me to make it right.” Fear can’t hold a candle to faith, so when you feel that doubt creeping in, hit it with some truth: God didn’t bring me this far to leave me.

Don’t Block Your Blessing

Listen, blessings are like Amazon packages—they’re already on the way. But if you let fear keep you from opening the door, you’ll never get what’s been promised to you. Some of y’all are out here scared to open the door because you don’t think you deserve what’s on the other side. Newsflash: YOU DO.

You deserve love. You deserve success. You deserve peace. And guess what else? You deserve to stop playing small because fear told you that’s all you’re worth. Baby, you’re worth everything and then some!

Final Thoughts

I want you to sit with this: Fear can’t stop what God has already approved. Period. You’ve been scared long enough and scared to try, scared to fail, scared of what people will say. But honey, they’re going to talk whether you win or lose, so you might as well give them a show!

Next time, we will dive deeper into how to break those chains of fear for good. But for now, I want you to remember this: Fear only has as much power as you give it. So, stop feeding it. Starve it, stomp on it, and send it packing.

Until next time, Uncle Paul reminds you to keep it real, keep it moving, and, most importantly, keep collecting your blessings.
