We may need to understand why someone acts a certain way or makes decisions that seem illogical or unreasonable from our perspective. But before we pass judgment on them, we must take a step back and consider their feelings and experiences. They may be dealing with things we will never know about, and our judgments may only add fuel to their emotional fire; if anything, being kind and understanding goes much further in helping them work through their problems than making snap judgments ever could.
