Look, we don’t get a chance to hide or pretend when the bottom falls out of our lives. When we get bad news, all the words of faith, which we have told others to embrace, seems to slip right through the grip of our fist. But what I have learned over the years is that it doesn’t matter if you are going through something big or small, but, what matters the most, is what we do in those circumstances.
The Bible says, “Consider it a sheer gift, or count it all joy, when you are tested and when challenges come at us from all sides.” I have to be honest: That’s rarely my first reaction! I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve considered hard times a gift or counted all of my trials and tribulations as joy. James tells us not to try to wiggle out of the hard times too soon because they all have a purpose. He says that we must let the trials and tribulations that have been appointed to our lives, finish its work, so that we may grow up and stop acting like babies when we face challenges. So, embrace the trials, for they are all working together for your good.
Uncle Paul’s Thought: When life deals you a bad hand, shout, dance, run around and celebrate, for it is all working to bring about an end result, that will be well worth the pain. The greater the pain, the greater the reward.
