Pain is not always a four-letter word…

“I think we all agree that pain is never fun to go through, but my experience has been that pain has a way of shaping us and helping us grow and develop our character.

Pain helps us vocalize what is going on inside of us.  When we go through pain, we need a way to vocalize what is happening on the inside.  Our pain gives us a voice to be able to cry out, help me, I am hurting, and I need help.

Our pain can be a warning sign, that cause us to slow down and proceed with caution.  Our hurt causes you to slow up and test the waters a little bit before you dive in headfirst. Sometimes we need that caution sign, which says there is danger ahead, and pain can sometimes be the sign we needed.

Our pain causes us to address the root of the pain. Nobody ever wants to repeat our painful situations.  If we don’t want to repeat the pain, then we must spend time figuring out what caused pain and how do we fix it.    Pain is not always a bad thing.  It may not always be an easy pill to swallow, but then again it is easier to go through pain when you know that there is something good that will come out of it. Look, don’t be afraid to cry out during your pain.

Remember this; pain is one of the few inescapable things in the universe. We're all going to hurt in some way. But the truth be told pain is not always painful.  Pain may be unpleasantness, it may be uncomfortable, but it is not always painful. There is a lesson in the pain if you learn to listen for it.” It’s Just A Thought…Uncle Paul (Paul Steven Smith)
