Many of us have stopped ourselves from going after our dreams, from pursuing our passion, from unwrapping our inner gifts, because we are slaves to our past. We’ve been holding on to our past failures and success. When life’s challenges come our way, we just switch back to the chapters of our lives that are familiar to us our so-called, glory days. We relive our past success as if they are some fresh thoughts and we find ourselves stuck in the past and unable to move forward.
We must understand that our past failure and success mean absolutely nothing today. We must get out of the habit of repackaging the past and still expecting improved results. It’s a new day, and we must let go of yesterday’s pain, failures and success.
Uncle Paul’s Thought: Life is full of highs and lows. The highs of successes are easy to handle, but the failures of our past seem to linger on forever. We must understand that our past failures and success helped propel us to where we are today. But, we must not rest on our past even though it was an essential step to reaching our success. We must find a way to use the lessons learned from the past, but not allow our past to define us. We must use our history as a stepping stone, to get us where we want to go. Remember this, what got us here won’t necessarily, get us there.
