We Are All Broken

We all have shortcomings and struggles and insecurities. We all have flaws and defects. We all deal with some recurring strongholds or mindsets. We all have those zones in our lives that make us flinch. We battle with how we see ourselves and struggle with how God sees us. The truth be told, we are all broken individuals who are intimately acquainted with our brokenness. We don't need to look far to find how we're imperfect. We can pinpoint our shortcomings, list our imperfections and review each and every one of our slip-up.

You see, we don't want folks to see our brokenness. So, we put on a mask and attempt to conceal who we truly are. We go to church on Sunday and act as if we are seated, on the left-hand side of the throne near Jesus. We put on a mask, pretend everything is okay and letting those around us believe we are some sort of super Christian. But, it is just a cover up. We must stop trying to hide our brokenness. We must stop trying to cover up our shortcomings and embrace the less desirable parts of our lives and share them with others and allow them to see where we stumble and fall. In return, others must be willing build a person up and not tear a person down. When a person is honest as to who they really are, they need support, they need love, they need people to help give them the strength to push forward in spite of their brokenness.

Look, God may not take our shortcoming
away. He may not mend every aspect of our brokenness. He may not take away our thorns in the flesh and make us perfect and flawless people. But He will work in the midst of our weaknesses shows up and displays His strength for all to see. We must fully realize that our brokenness is just as much a part of who God created us to be as our strengths. Just think for a minute, your weakness may actually be your strength, and we all know that God can and will turn your weaknesses into strengths. Remember this, accept yourself as you are, even when others don't or won’t and watch your healing begin. Push forward regardless of your brokenness.
